Terms of service
Last updated July 29, 2026
These terms are an agreement between the business accepting them and Vatteo, a business-to-business software service operated from the United Kingdom. By installing, subscribing to or using Vatteo, you accept these terms for yourself and the organization you represent. If you do not have that authority, do not connect an organization or use the service.
The service
Vatteo prepares accounting evidence and proposed QuickBooks entries from supported Shopify activity. Features may include payout imports, reconciliation, variance investigation, account and tax mapping, approval workflows, journal posting, reports and accountant collaboration. Supported providers, markets and features are described in the service and may change as provider APIs or laws change.
Accounts and authority
You must provide accurate account information, protect authentication methods and promptly remove people who no longer require access. A user connecting Shopify or QuickBooks confirms that they are authorized to access that organization and to permit Vatteo to read or write the data required for selected features. Owners control team and accounting-firm access and can revoke it. You are responsible for activity performed by authorized users in your workspace.
Customer data and connected services
You retain ownership of data supplied by you or obtained from connected accounts. You grant Vatteo the limited right to host, process and transmit that data to provide, secure and support the service. You are responsible for having any notices, permissions and lawful basis needed to connect and process that data. Vatteo’s handling of personal data is described in the Privacy policy.
Shopify, Intuit QuickBooks, WorkOS, Resend, Amazon Web Services, Cloudflare and other connected or infrastructure services are independent third parties with their own terms and availability. Vatteo is not affiliated with or endorsed by Intuit. QuickBooks and Intuit are trademarks of Intuit Inc.
Financial controls
The merchant remains responsible for reviewing source evidence, account mappings, tax settings, journals, reports and bank matches before relying on or posting them. You must maintain appropriate access controls and independent backups of records needed for your business. Vatteo does not delete QuickBooks transactions. Corrections use explicit reversal and replacement entries. Unsupported or incomplete source evidence may block automatic posting and require review.
No professional advice or tax filing
Vatteo is a software tool, not an accountant, tax adviser, auditor, lawyer, bank or fiduciary. It records tax and financial evidence reported by connected providers but does not determine every tax obligation, submit or pay tax returns, perform an audit or guarantee that records satisfy a particular filing requirement. Obtain advice from appropriately qualified professionals.
Acceptable use
You must not use Vatteo unlawfully; access data or organizations without authorization; interfere with security or availability; introduce malicious code; attempt to discover credentials or source code except where law expressly permits; evade service limits; resell or sublicense the service without written permission; or use provider data for a purpose prohibited by Shopify, Intuit or applicable law.
Fees, cancellation and refunds
Prices, usage allowances, trial terms and recurring charges are shown before subscription approval. Shopify may administer billing under its own billing terms. Unless the displayed offer or applicable law says otherwise, fees already incurred are non-refundable. You may cancel future renewals through the available subscription controls. Ending a subscription stops new imports and postings after the paid period but does not silently alter entries already posted to QuickBooks.
Intellectual property
Vatteo and its licensors own the service, software, documentation, design and related intellectual property, excluding customer data and third-party materials. Subject to these terms and payment of applicable fees, Vatteo grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service for your internal business accounting operations. Feedback may be used to improve the service without identifying you or disclosing confidential information.
Availability and changes
Vatteo aims to operate a dependable service but does not promise uninterrupted availability. Maintenance, provider outages, API changes and security incidents may temporarily limit features. Vatteo may modify or discontinue features and will provide reasonable notice when a material change adversely affects active customers where practicable.
Suspension and termination
Vatteo may suspend access where reasonably necessary to prevent harm, address a security risk, comply with law, respond to provider action or stop material breach or non-payment. Either party may terminate as permitted by the subscription controls or applicable offer. On termination, your right to use the service ends. Provider credentials are revoked or destroyed, and data is retained or deleted as described in the Privacy policy. Export required records before deletion.
Disclaimers and liability
To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available.” Vatteo disclaims implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Vatteo is not responsible for decisions made without the required review, inaccurate source data, unauthorized configuration changes or failures of third-party services.
To the extent permitted by law, neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, special, punitive or consequential loss, or for lost profits, revenue, goodwill or data. Vatteo’s aggregate liability arising from the service will not exceed the fees paid for the affected workspace during the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
Governing law and changes
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except where mandatory law requires otherwise. Vatteo may update these terms for legal, security or service changes. Material changes will be identified by a new effective date and communicated through the service or account email where appropriate. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
